North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, Kingston upon Hull, North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, York

Yorkshire and the Humber Strategy

One of the aims of Ride UK is to provide a central location where people can find out about promoted riding routes. These might be long distance linear or circular routes and local community circuits. If you know of, or are planning, any such routes and they are not listed below, please let us know. We will add them to the list so that work is not duplicated! Email the BHS Access Office with details.

Another aim is to develop new routes to reflect the modern needs of riders. These include the Trans Pennine Trail.

Local Routes

Local routes are listed on the county pages: North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, Kingston upon Hull, North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, York, and if local government reorganisation over the years has left you confused, try Lincolnshire.

Maps
Anyone riding in the area or wishing to plan a long distance or circular bridleroute may wish to use the 1:50,000 Ordnance Survey maps. Relevant map numbers are given on the county pages.

Where to stay
People wishing to try out the riding away from home may wish to know where they can keep their horses overnight. A useful book entitled Bed and Breakfast for Horses which lists places to keep a horse overnight can be purchased from the British Horse Society. Entries include:
