Network Overview

As data is collated, this page will become the index to available information on National and Regional Routes, and Community Circuits. Routes under development will also be shown, so that no authority or organisation wishing to contribute towards the National Bridleroute Network will inadvertently duplicate work already in hand by another partner in the scheme.

Right: This map shows many of the promoted long distance routes available to horse riders. If you know of one that is missing, the Access Office at the British Horse Society would be pleased to hear from you. Although many routes are under development, these have only just started to be added.

Key: Red lines indicate long distance routes which are already available and promoted. Pale blue lines indicate long distance routes which are likely to come into use within the next five years.

Note: Although not shown on this map, it is intended that the National Bridleroute Network will also extend to Scotland and Northern Ireland. The law in these parts of the UK is different from that in England and Wales and there may be corresponding differences in the way the network is developed there.
