The Sett Valley Trail provides a motor traffic free route
of 2 1/2 mile (4km) for walkers, riders and cyclists between
New Mills and Hayfield along the route of the former railway line.
The trail passes through attractive countryside and connects to

A useful book entitled Bed and Breakfast for Horses which lists places to keep a horse overnight can be purchased from the British Horse Society.
Financial assistance was given for the development of the trail and the picnic site by the Depatrment of the Environment and the Peak Park Joint Planning Board. The leaflet is published by the Derbyshire County Council Planning and Highways Department.
