Swaffham Bridleroute

The Swaffham Bridleroute is a 21 mile (34km) circular ride on bridleways, tracks and minor roads. It passes through forestry plantation, the gentle rolling hills of West Norfolk and the market town of Swaffham, offering a varied and interesting ride. It is very close to part of the Peddars Way.

The Swaffham Bridleroute is just one of a set of circular rides in Norfolk which can be found in the Norfolk Bridle and Cycle Routes pack which can be purchased from Norfolk County Council. They can be contacted on 01603 222769 or at:

Ordnance Survey
This paths and tracks making up this route can be seen on the following Ordnance Survey maps. The Landranger series at 1:50,000 are useful route maps covering large areas of land, while the Explorer series at 1:25,000 show greater detail. Unfortunately this circular route crosses onto two Landranger maps.

    Where to stay
    People wishing to try out the riding away from home may wish to know where they can keep their horses overnight. A useful book entitled Bed and Breakfast for Horses which lists places to keep a horse overnight can be purchased from the British Horse Society. Entries include:
